The Digital Education Revolution (DER) has arrived.
The Laptops 4 Learning Initiative (L4L) is currently being rolled out in Australian schools.
Are you ready for the revolution?
Would you like some lessons to get your students started?
This website brings together more than 20 years of teaching experience, and a further 15 of industry experience, to support teachers to deliver the curriculum in a whole new format. It provides a means of accessing lessons for traditional or laptop based learning.
The way Passing Notes works is explained below.
1. Register for access to all Sample Lessons. Registration is available on the members page. There is no charge for registration.
2. Click any of the featured lessons at the bottom of each page, or go directly to the featured items page for a full list.
3. Each lesson has two downloadable versions; a pdf file and a doc file. The pdf can be opened and printed directly, or saved. The doc file can also be opened or saved, however it has editable fields so students can click on a link and type directly onto the document using their laptops. Completed lessons can then be saved.
4. To access the full bank of lessons, schools or individuals can become members. There are 6 month and 12 month subscriptions available. This subscription gives access to all lessons on the site. Member schools can download and store any or all lessons within the school intranet for the use of its own students and teachers. Individuals can download lessons onto their home or work computers for their own use. Personal use includes lesson planning, program development or sequencing, private tutoring or study purposes (in the case of students).
5. All lessons on the site are subject to Autralian copyright licencing. Each lesson is clearly marked with the identity of the author and no change should be made to any document, beyond those allowable under the licence, ie, students answering questions. Refer to the Privacy policy. Schools and individuals are encouraged to track usage of individual lessons for the purpose of allocating copyright royalties during a survey or audit which is carried out by the Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) or one of its affiliates. See the terms of use.
6. Once a membership has been purchased, a school or individual has the right to use any of the material downloaded during the period of membership, subject to copyright as mentioned above.
7. Material is constantly being added to the site. Renewing the membership subscription provides individuals and schools with access to a dynamic website and ever growing resource bank.
There are other benefits of membership. Members can request specific lessons, contribute to the development process and provide lessons of their own. This gives teachers an opportunity to share work with your colleagues and earn royalties in the process. Read more about becoming an author.
We count in decimal, since adding one to nine means we run out of single-digit numbers.
